GENERAL FAQ's
Are there any settings I need to configure in google chrome?
What equipment do I need?
I can’t login, help!
How do I Clear my Cache?
- Yes! To configure them open google chrome then click the three dots in the top right and select settings
- in the "privacy and security" section select "cookies and other site data"
- ensure "allow all cookies" is selected
- ensure "clear cookies and site data when you quit chrome" is OFF
What equipment do I need?
- A “decent” newish computer. If you can get 8GB of RAM and a SSD (solid state drive) with Windows 10 you will be more than ready. As with all technology the more you can afford to spend the better your experience will be. Something like this could be a good option if it stays on special!
- A printer. We suggest a cheap mono laser printer from Officeworks as they are generally more reliable than inkjet and cheaper to run. Just remember they often don’t come with a cable so if you don’t want to setup the wireless connection remember to add one to your cart.
- A barcode scanner. It makes the noms process so much easier (and more accurate!). Just make sure you purchase one that can scan mobile devices as that is the way things are progressing… Something like this would be a good option.
- Whilst the system will run offline if needed we strongly recommend being connected to the internet if at all possible (so you are backed up and the shooters can see scores on their device). As the system uses very little data hot spotting a phone will work but if you can spring for a WiFi dongle they are more reliable with a better signal and can more easily connect multiple devices.
I can’t login, help!
- Our system, for security reasons, compares the time on the computer to the world time to identify if a user should be “timed out”. If your computer time is wrong, it will assume you are timed out and not let you login. Try adjusting the time to ensure the time and time zone are synching automatically and then press synch now.
- In order to run offline we require cookies to be allowed. If you are having trouble logging in go to the three dots in the top right of the google chrome browser and then select settings and then in privacy click on “cookies and other site data” and ensure “allow all cookies” is selected.
How do I Clear my Cache?
- open chrome then click the three dots in the top right, then more tools and clear browsing data
- In the pop-up select advanced at the top and then “all time” in the drop down and tick all items except passwords and then click “Clear data”
- You then need to login and click administer on one of your existing programs. This will kick start the install and reload the latest member list (as it is a complete reload rather than a synch of new members you should do this at home when you have good internet).
- please ensure you only clear your cache when asked to by MCMS (ie when a new version is released or when trouble shooting on the phone with us)
ACTA FAQ's
How do I setup a ACTA High Gun event?
How do I setup a Trap Handicap Event?
How do I setup a Skeet Handicap Event?
How do I enter shoot-off scores?
- The program has events and “combined events”. An event is one in which a shooter is squadded for and actually shoots a score for. A combined event adds together scores from events (or legs within events if needed).
- So, to setup a High Gun event you would add a Combined Event and “tick in” the scores for all other events. Combined Events can also be used for say team selection where it only picks up the DB / SB / PS events and you only nominate shooters from the relevant zone / state into that combined event.
How do I setup a Trap Handicap Event?
- The same as any other event except select “Handicap (ACTA Meterage)” in the “Event Shot From” selection dropdown.
- Then set the overall prize to 3 (if paying 1st to 3rd) and the grade prizes to zero.
- If you are re-squading for the handicap go to the Noms & Squads page and click on the yellow box next to the handicap event and uncheck “Linked”. This will push all shooters into the unsquadded list so you can sort them by meterage and squad accordingly once all noms are in (you can set the number in the squad to 5 if you wanted to say shoot 5 per lane).
How do I setup a Skeet Handicap Event?
- Involves selecting “Handicap (Free Targets)” but it is a little complicated as it requires some manual maths so if you plan to run one please contact us to talk you through it.
How do I enter shoot-off scores?
- When entering scores for a shooter in a shoot-off you need to enter two scores, what they scored and what they could have scored.
- So, if a shooter missed their 5th target you would enter 4 and 5.
- If you are running a point score event and the shooter took a second barrel on their 3rd target you would enter 8 and 9
